If they did, nobody would be fat anymore. We would just stick to grapefruits or cabbage this week and it would solve the problem for entire life. Huh? Not likely.<br />
They do not work, because they are not designed to work. They do what it says on a tin: lose 6 pounds this week. They do not promise you will keep the weight off. You are going to lose 6 pounds of water weight, and maybe a little bit of muscle. You are going to look unhealthy, tired and not in very good mood.<br />
What they do not say, is what else you will lose expect of weight. Hair, for instance. Hair loss is a common companion of crash dieting. Not enough nutrients in a food means that body ‘shut down’. Broken nails and grey skin will follow.<br />
What else?<br />
Our skin is amazing, but still doesn’t like rapid weight loss. You are going to get stretch marks so big, people will ask when you have had your baby. Even if you are 13.<br />
Your metabolism will slow down and go into ‘starvation mode’, trying to preserve what it can. It means that whatever you will eat, it will go straight to build more fat cells.<br />
Welcome yo-yo effect.<br />
Enough scare, what will work?<br />
Little changes, over longer period of time – that’s the whole secret. Less stress, more real food, more exercise and you can live 10 or 20 years longer.</p>

So how to eat healthy, stay within calorie limit, not violate your diet &#8211; when you are out and about?<br />
It is easy with my secret tips for healthy eating out. Just because you’re watching your weight, it doesn’t mean you need to stay at home and eat celery all the time.<br />
Actually, eating out with family and friends is a great way to test what you’ve learned and to prove to yourself that it is possible to eat healthily and enjoy your life at the same time. In fact, in no time you will have entirely different problem. When you follow this easy tips on healthy eating out you become an object of jealousy. Just prepare yourself for those questions: How does it come that you eat everything (wink) and still lose weight? </p>
<p>•	If you’re going to a barbecue, a friend’s house or a party, take a dish along so that you know you will have something healthy to choose from. Dazzle them with some foreign cuisine with colorful herbs, exotic name and exquisite look and nobody will notice that it was, let say, ‘just chicken’.<br />
•	On restaurant menus, look for the words “grilled”, “steamed”, “poached” or “stir-fried” – avoid “deepfried”, “pan-fried”, “battered” or “crumbed” dishes.<br />
•	Avoid sauces with cheese, oil, butter and cream.<br />
•	Save calories on a starter – Italian special ‘parma ham melon’ is my favourite. Hey, this is called a starter but it is actually a piece of fruit and 2 slices of parma ham that is about 19 calories per slice!<br />
•	Just say no to fries. (Steal one of someone else’s if you really can’t resist a taste.)<br />
•	Don’t drink alcohol at home. You are limited to 2 glasses of vine per week – but they don’t have to know that. Drink it on your day out with friends.<br />
•	Before you go out eat a boiled egg. It will prevent you succumb to feeding frenzy.<br />
•	Buffett style occasions – load your plate with salad, vegetables, fruits and lean meat.<br />
•	Don’t sit quietly – when your mouth is busy talking has no time for chewing.</p>
